February 26, 2015

Dear Valued TSPA Client;

   A warm greeting from the Tennis & Sports Psychology Academy (TSPA) with a minus 40 including the winchill in Montreal on this Tuesday February 25th when this email was being written. We always search for the positives despite the negatives or adversity and I believe today might be the last cold day (that is an understatement) of the winter. As the preparation for another amazing season sets in, I am pleased to share with you some exciting news in this 2015 newsletter.

TSPA is Back at the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club

    I am proud to announce that the Tennis & Sports Psychology Academy will once again offer camp and tennis services at the Côte Saint-Tennis Club located at 8215 Guelph.  Camp initially started at this club in 2004 and grew very quickly. This year, there is a $50 required membership fee (regularly $94) for juniors (in Cote Saint-Luc only) but if you register by March 1st, you can still save more then 50% or up to $1276 if you decide to purchase the full summer program. This membership allows your child to play a ton of tennis with no additional court fees for up to six months.

Popular Tennis Camp

    Our tennis camps in Côte Saint-Luc and Verdun will continue to offer up to three hours of instructional tennis from our qualified pros, free - swim, our positive reinforcement coupon system, free pizza on Friday to go along with our warm friendly staff, weekly tournaments and sports psychology workshops all of which is carefully supervised in a family atmosphere. The academy prides itself on instilling positive mental skills, working on highlights, so that not only performance is enhanced on the court but also off the court. We’ve added a new theme this year called good will and kindness which we will surely practice throughout the season. Camp has always been a great place to make new friends, solidify the bond with old friends and improve one’s skill specifically in the various tactical, technical and strategy that exists in tennis. In our Côte Saint-Luc location, campers will play tennis in the morning at the Caldwell Tennis Courts (on hard courts) and then get a private STM bus and get transported to the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club in the afternoons. In 2015, the federal government has increased the allowable tax fitness credit of 15% of $500 to $1000 which along with the provincial tax credits of 26%-60% depending on your family income of up to $4000 means more savings for you.  We do have limited spots and some weeks will fill-up. We work on a first come first serve basis. We have an early bird special that ends April 1st for our popular summer camps. We will have another early bird special until April 1st but the prices will go up.  Please note we also offer a 0% financing and the ability to spread your payment in four installments of up to 3 months. As you may know the official releve 24 receipt will be ready to be downloaded in your account by the end of February for the previous year (see video).  Click the link below for more information and to register.

Join a Club and be a Member

   There is no doubt that being a member of a tennis club has its privileges. It is also worth noting that the prices at the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club have gone down 15% in 2015. If you are a returning club member, this is great news. If you are thinking of joining a club, there can not be a better time to join.  The club features nine clay courts, a pool which will be renovated, shower facilities and a clubhouse with satellite TV. Please note the application form should be ready by May 1st, 2015. More information is available on the link below

  The membership price at the Woodland Tennis Club which is worth repeating - on clay courts -  remains the lowest in the City. The bar service, friendly club atmosphere, active, dedicated and committed board members and variety of socials consistently  are reasons why many people join a club. The club features six clay courts, a shower facility and a renovated tennis looking clubhouse steps away from the spectacular view of the St-Laurence River. More information on this club can be seen below.

    In summary, we will have tennis services in three locations: our newest location at the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club, the Caldwell Tennis Courts and the Woodland Tennis Club in Verdun. Our summer camp has been consistently praised from campers, parents, board members and City administrators. I’ve also talked about it in various radio interviews I have had on Montreal’s CJAD when discussing various psychological issues in peak performance and has been featured recently with “in Montreal” . I am confident you will notice that our tennis services will continue to offer the best price / value in Montreal. We are pleased to regularly update our social media outlets such as facebook and twitter on a regular basis during the summer. Most of the TSPA dream team have already expressed interest in returning once again this year.  I invite you to spread the news and continue to make TSPA the #1 recreational tennis camp in Montreal with the new goal of being the best place for tennis lessons (private or group) in the City.
